Roles you can play
Catechist/Catequista
The heart of the program, these volunteers educate students on a weekly basis, they must/should have their hearts in the right place and enjoy spreading the Good News to the students.
El corazón del programa: Estos voluntarios educan a los estudiantes semanalmente, deben tener un corazón recto y disfrutar evangelizando el evangelio a los estudiantes.
Catechist Assistant/Asistente de Catequista
Catechists alone cannot do all the work alone in the classroom. Catechist Assistants do the menial work like collect mass cards, record attendance and help make sure students are attended too.

The back of the house, they bring to life the day to day operations and support the Director with opening the building, receiving families, students and support catechists.

Journey to becoming a catechist
VIRTUS
Virtus is an educational program offered through the Diocese to increase awareness of sexual abuse of minors. The Church asks that anyone who desires to volunteer and serve in our parish must complete their Virtus Training.
Virtus es un programa educativo que se ofrece a través de la Diócesis para aumentar la conciencia sobre el abuso sexual de menores. La Iglesia pide que cualquier persona que desee ser voluntario y servir en nuestra parroquia debe completar su entrenamiento de Virtus.

Catechist Aide
Take time to observe and assist a Catechist. You will be paired with one or multiple and observe a year of curriculum.

Catechist
A prepared catechist by now should know how the program works and understand how to prepare a lesson. They also must have all their certifications.
